About the Event

The Windom Community Council’s Environment and Land Use Committee is looking for Windom residents who would like to volunteer to be on the committee.

We want you if:

----you are passionate about the environment;

----don’t know much about environmental issues or how to address them but want to learn;

----want to help improve the environment in our neighborhood; or, ----just want to get to know more of your neighbors.

Whatever motivates you, we need your interests, skills and willingness to serve our wonderful neighborhood.

Examples of issues that have been worked on before include increasing biodiversity and managing stormwater through rain gardens, promoting use of native plants in turf to pollinator gardens, and neighborhood street clean up and litter reduction.

Our first meeting of 2024 will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 7-8 pm at the Windom Park & Rec Center, 5843 Wentworth Ave.  The purpose of this meeting will be setting priorities for 2024, finalizing on-going meeting dates and times, and will be a hybrid meeting of in-person and zoom.

For questions, more information, or to signup to volunteer (even if you can’t make the first meeting), please call Becky McIntosh at 612-532-9710 or email at mcintoshbec@yahoo.com.
